Hi my name is Jessie! I fell in love with archaeology at a ripe old age of 9 years old. I was fascinated with the discovery of all things old, so I decided to make a career out of it. I went to Longwood University to receive my Bachelors of Science in Anthropology and am currently in the process of finishing up my Master’s degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Applied Archaeology. My first major archaeological experience was a field school in Galway, Ireland where I helped to excavate a 15th century Irish tower house. I have also supervised field schools here in Virginia at the Randy K Wade site, which is a Late Woodland village site. My primary focus has been on prehistoric archaeology, specifically within Woodland and Contact periods. Working with kids through the Kids Dig! program has been an amazing opportunity to help share my passion with the younger generations.
